History of Technology and Science
The Program in History of Technology and Science (HOTS)
at Iowa State University emphasizes the history of technology, science,
and medicine in Europe and America since the later 18th century.
Its core faculty all teach and write in this chronological period, thus
providing extraordinary opportunity for graduate study. Each, moreover,
is broad gauged, expert in several areas within this general focus.
Each takes ideas seriously as the basis for understanding science, technology,
medicine and social action.
